At Utelogy, we’re constantly expanding our platform to support the evolving needs of enterprise IT. With over 3,500 supported device models and new integrations released weekly, we’re committed to helping organizations unify and optimize their AV/UC environments, regardless of manufacturer or ecosystem.
Last week, we rolled out two new occupancy sensor drivers: Crestron CEN-ODT and the PointGrab Cloud Driver. These additions provide even more flexibility for customers looking to enable intelligent, sensor-based automation and analytics in their spaces.
When paired with the Utelogy control engine, triggers, and automation workflows, basic sensor input becomes a powerful operational tool. Spaces can be programmed to turn on or off automatically based on real-time occupancy, reducing energy use and wear on devices. Energy consumption data can also be surfaced directly in Utelogy dashboards, offering a clear view into system behavior and usage patterns.
Energy usage data can easily be used with our ENERGY SAVINGS CALCULATOR or integrated into broader BI tools to help IT and facilities teams evaluate sustainability initiatives and uncover additional ROI.
As workplace needs continue to shift, we’re also laying the groundwork for deeper, more actionable analytics. Coming soon to the platform, Utelogy customers will have access to usage and trend-based insights that go far beyond device status, highlighting average meeting attendance, room utilization frequency, and even identifying underused or ghosted spaces. This will give IT and real estate teams the tools they need to make data-backed decisions about space planning, scheduling, and investments.
Another recent update is the enhanced MTR Cloud Driver functionality. Designed to address the common pain point of “ghost meetings”, rooms that are booked but unoccupied. This feature allows rooms to be automatically released back into inventory if no occupants are detected after a set delay (typically 10–15 minutes). Powered by real-time occupancy state, this automation ensures rooms don’t sit idle when they could be put to use elsewhere.
Even better, the system can send customizable email notifications to meeting organizers or attendees, and IT teams have flexibility to determine whether to fully cancel the meeting or simply remove the MTR device from the reservation. These options give organizations more control over their environments and improve the overall meeting room experience.
